Deadlock Between Government and JUI-F Over Madrasah Bill Continues, Islamabad March Announcement Expected

Islamabad: The deadlock between the government and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) over the controversial Madrasah Registration Bill remains unresolved, with the party now planning to announce a march towards Islamabad. The announcement is expected during JUI-F’s “Israel Must Fall” conference, which is scheduled to take place in Peshawar tomorrow.
According to JUI-F spokesperson Aslam Ghori, the conference will feature a special address by party leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and preparations for the event are complete. The conference will see participation from party workers from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and will highlight solidarity with the Palestinian cause. The event aims to protest the ongoing atrocities against Palestinians and will include discussions on the government’s stance on the Madrasah Registration Bill, which JUI-F believes is a step towards undermining religious institutions.
The party has accused the government of bad faith, betrayal, and dishonesty regarding its promises on the Madrasah Bill. It is also expected that the conference will serve as a platform for announcing future political actions, with the possibility of an Islamabad march being revealed.
Key JUI-F leaders, including Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri, Maulana Aslam Ghori, Maulana Amjad Khan, and several other prominent figures, will address the gathering. They will discuss the party’s strategy regarding the controversial bill and the broader political situation in the country.
Meanwhile, sources suggest that the deadlock between the government and JUI-F over the bill remains unresolved, and JUI-F is planning to adopt a tough stance in the coming days. Maulana Fazlur Rehman is expected to announce the party’s future course of action, which could include a march towards Islamabad, during tomorrow’s conference.
A consultative meeting within JUI-F today will finalize the details regarding the Islamabad march, with a decision on the date expected later tonight.
