The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab has successfully arrested 11 terrorists following 166 intelligence-based operations conducted across various cities. These operations took place in Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Pakpattan, Gujrat, Chakwal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, and Faisalabad.
According to the CTD spokesperson, during the operations, a dangerous terrorist affiliated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was apprehended in Mianwali along with explosives. The authorities seized explosive materials, detonators, pamphlets, and cash from the captured terrorists. The arrested individuals were identified as Haider Sultan, Wali Rahman, Zubair, Ameen, Akbar, Maqsood Khan, Umair, Zafar Iqbal, Ibrahim Qasmi, Mohib Ullah, and Saddam Hussain.
In a related development, Shams Ullah, a suicide bomber arrested from Lahore’s Burki area, has made significant revelations during his interrogation. The CTD spokesperson stated that Shams Ullah had received training in Afghanistan before being sent to Pakistan via the Chaman border by commanders of the banned group, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, including Suleiman and Qasim Khurasani. Qasim Khurasani is known to be the mastermind behind the target killings of police officers in Peshawar’s Police Lines and Lahore.
Further details revealed that during his training, Shams Ullah was also forced to use narcotics. Facilitator Ali reportedly allowed Shams Ullah to stay in Lahore for three days and provided him with a suicide vest. Efforts are underway to apprehend facilitator Ali through intelligence-based operations.
It’s noteworthy that Shams Ullah was arrested by the CTD just a few days ago from the Burki area.
