BANNU: The police in Bannu have commenced a crackdown against armed groups, with raids and arrests ongoing. According to District Police Officer (DPO) Khan, the operation aims to tackle the presence of armed factions across the city.
Responding to directives from Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and demands from the peace committee in Bannu, the police have begun implementing measures. In this regard, Bannu police formally launched a crackdown against armed groups throughout the city.
Initially, the district police in Bannu initiated an operation, conducting raids on hideouts of armed groups. During these operations, more than a dozen armed individuals have been apprehended, leading to the seizure of weapons and a non-custom paid vehicle.
Following the commencement of police actions, residents took to the streets in support, chanting slogans in favor of the police.
