Court Orders ISI to be Made a Party in Missing Person Case

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has ordered the inclusion of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) as a party in a petition for the recovery of a missing person, Faizan Usman. The court also directed the sector commander of ISI to assist the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad in the matter.
During the hearing of the petition for Faizan Usman’s recovery, the court instructed that the missing individual should be recovered by Thursday and also mandated that ISI be included in the case proceedings. Additionally, the sector commander of ISI was directed to support the IG Islamabad in their efforts.
Justice Babar Sattar ordered the IG Islamabad to trace the missing person’s phone number and vehicle.
The petitioner reported that individuals in vehicles arrived at their home, conducted a search, and questioned them about the presence of uniformed personnel. The petitioner claimed that these individuals, who did not identify themselves, later went to the petitioner’s institute, confiscated devices, and threatened that any legal or media action would be detrimental to the petitioner’s child.
The petitioner’s account described how their son was taken away after being accused of connections with a banned organization. Despite being told their son would be safe if no legal or media actions were pursued, the petitioner stated that no progress had been made in retrieving their child.
In court, the petitioner’s wife broke down, stating that it has been two months since their son was taken, and despite numerous attempts to contact relevant authorities, no progress has been made. She detailed that their devices, including laptops and phones, were confiscated, and footage shows various vehicles arriving at their home, leading them to believe that the ISI was involved.
The court has mandated the recovery of the missing person by Thursday and adjourned the hearing until then.
