Court Martial Proceedings Initiated Against Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed (Retd), Charged with Multiple Offenses: ISPR

Rawalpindi: The Pakistan Army has initiated court martial proceedings against Lt. General (retd) Faiz Hameed, with official charges now filed against him. According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a Field General Court Martial (FGCM) has been set in motion as of August 12, 2024, under the relevant provisions of the Pakistan Army Act.
In the latest developments, Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed (retd) has been formally charged. The charges include his involvement in political activities, violations of the Official Secrets Act, actions that have jeopardized national security, abuse of power and official resources, and causing wrongful harm to individuals.
Additionally, separate investigations are underway regarding Lt. Gen. Hameed’s alleged involvement in violent incidents and unrest, particularly those that have resulted in widespread disturbances since May 9, 2024. The investigation also includes potential collusion with malicious political elements in these incidents.
The ISPR further assured that Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed (retd) will be afforded all legal rights during the court martial proceedings, as mandated by law.
