Court Hearing on Imran Khan’s Request to Dismiss Terrorism Charges in GHQ Attack Case

Islamabad: The hearing is ongoing in the case related to the attack on the General Headquarters (GHQ), where former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan has filed a request to dismiss the terrorism charges against him. On December 2, Khan submitted applications in the GHQ attack case seeking acquittal and the removal of terrorism sections (7 ATA) from the May 9 tragedy cases.
In his request for acquittal, Imran Khan argued that he had been implicated in the case based on the statements of three accused individuals. However, these three individuals later formally retracted their statements in court, thereby clearing the allegations against him. Khan’s counsel has called for his acquittal based on this development.
In the second application, Imran Khan contended that the terrorism charges in the May 9 incidents are unlawful and should be removed. He requested that these cases be transferred to a District and Sessions court for further proceedings.
