Contractor of K-IV Project Attempts to Flee After Bail Rejected in Check Bounce Case
Karachi: In a check bounce case, the contractor of the K-IV water supply project, Umar Bashir, attempted to flee after the Sindh High Court rejected his bail application.
The court had heard the case where the accused, Umar Bashir, had sought bail, but the court dismissed his request. As soon as the verdict was announced, the accused tried to escape, but his attempt was thwarted by the complainant, Hafeeza, and her associates.
According to the case details, Umar Bashir had been borrowing petrol on credit from the complainant. He had issued a cheque of Rs. 32 million (3.2 crores), which was later bounced when the complainant deposited it into the bank.
Advocate Riyaz Bhatti confirmed that the Malir Court had also previously rejected the accused’s bail.
