Concerns Rise Among Government Employees as Notification for Salary Increase Delayed by Balochistan Treasury Department
Pasni:The Balochistan Treasury Department has been unable to issue a notification regarding the increase in government employees’ salaries, leading to widespread concern among the workforce. According to details, during last month’s budget session in the provincial assembly, the Provincial Minister for Finance had announced increments ranging from twenty to fifteen percent in salaries of government employees from grade one to sixteen, similar to the federal government’s policies. Officers from grade seventeen to twenty-two were slated to receive a twenty percent increase, while retirees were to see a fifteen percent rise in their pensions.
However, the Treasury Department has yet to issue an official notification regarding these salary and pension increases. This delay has prompted anxiety among government employees, especially considering that the federal government and other provinces have already issued notifications for similar increases for their employees.
It remains evident that despite announcements made during the federal and provincial budget sessions, the Balochistan Treasury Department has not been able to release the required notification on time.
