Islamabad:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Information Advisor, Barrister Saif, has announced the formation of a commission to investigate the incident of firing on demonstrators in Bannu. He emphasized that the investigation will reveal the intentions behind the actions taken deliberately.
In an interview with private television, Barrister Saif mentioned that during the press briefing by the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), repeated attempts were made to label Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as a propaganda tool. In response, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has established a commission to investigate the incident of firing during peaceful protests in Bannu. Any allegations aimed at PTI as being an agent of propaganda will affect the impartiality of the investigation.
He stated that a high-powered commission will compile a comprehensive report after consulting with all parties involved in the incident. However, it will only be determined after the investigation who knowingly played what role during that time.
In response to a question, Barrister Saif expressed that misunderstandings have been created by the federal government regarding Operation Azm-e-Istaqam, leading to public and political unrest.
He clarified that the first statement about the operation was made by the Prime Minister, which discussed a military operation. This was the federal government’s biggest mistake.
It should be noted that on Monday, Director General ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry had said that organized and misleading propaganda was being carried out against the Pakistan Army. A powerful lobby wants to sabotage the objectives of Operation Azm-e-Istaqam. The army is involved in digital terrorism against the country and the mafia.
DG ISPR said that politics is being played on Operation Azm-e-Istaqam. There is a strong lobby that wants the objectives of Operation Azm-e-Istaqam to be incomplete. A mafia, political mafia, and illegal mafia have stood against this campaign.
