Columbia University Agrees to Trump’s Demands After Federal Fund Cuts

Amid federal funding cuts, Columbia University in the United States has ultimately yielded to President Donald Trump’s demands. According to foreign media reports, the university has agreed to review and improve its policies regarding protests, security measures, and the Middle Eastern department.
As part of the new measures, Columbia University will appoint 36 special officers who will have the authority to arrest and expel individuals from the campus.
The university will also impose a ban on wearing face masks on campus, except for religious or health reasons. Additionally, a formal definition and clarification of antisemitism will be established.
This comes after the Trump administration accused Columbia University of failing to protect Jewish students and faculty members from harassment. In response, the administration had announced a $400 million cut in funding.
Top U.S. college administrators have expressed concern that Columbia University’s decision to comply with these demands could set a dangerous precedent, with potentially far-reaching consequences.
