Quetta:A tragic incident occurred in the coal-rich area of Gishtri in Mach tehsil of Bolan district where a coal mine collapsed, claiming the lives of two miners. According to local sources, the bodies of the deceased miners were retrieved seven hours after the incident. The district administration reportedly delayed reaching the site for several hours. Local residents participated in the rescue operation, assisting in the retrieval of the bodies.
Dr. Sajjad, Medical Superintendent at Mach Hospital, identified the deceased miners as Hamidur Rahman and Muhammad Aftab, hailing from Sangla district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Their bodies were transferred to their native area after post-mortem examinations were conducted.
Mining accidents remain a recurring issue in Pakistan, highlighting the challenges faced by workers in the hazardous mining industry.
