CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Orders Comprehensive Crackdown to Control Inflation

Lahore: Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has ordered a comprehensive and effective crackdown across the province to curb inflation. During a video link meeting with all Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners, Maryam Nawaz instructed them to launch a strong campaign against price hikes and to ensure strict enforcement.
The Chief Minister also directed that official price lists be prominently displayed in markets and emphasized monitoring the supply and demand of essential food items. She instructed action against hoarding and the prevention of stockpiling of goods.
In addition, Maryam Nawaz demanded daily comprehensive reports on price levels and instructed that the prices and quality of food items be ensured at all costs.
She stated, “Across the world, food prices are reduced during Ramadan, and we should also voluntarily reduce prices. Standardized goods should be provided at lower rates in the Sahulat Bazaars.”
Maryam Nawaz further added that she herself is monitoring food prices on the dashboard and will not tolerate any negligence in the crackdown on hoarding and profiteering. She made it clear that there will be no leniency at any level in the campaign against price hikes.
