CM Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti Criticizes Protests, Pledges Support for Business Community and Legal Trade

Quetta:Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti has expressed concern over the ongoing protests and sit-ins in the region, stating that such activities are causing inconvenience to the general public. He also emphasized that it was not appropriate for one province to engage in confrontation with the federal government, calling such acts of disruption a cause for serious reflection and condemnation.

Speaking about the challenges faced by the business community, Bugti assured that the provincial government would work to resolve the issues it could address immediately. “The problems of the business community that we can solve, we will try to resolve today itself,” he stated. He added that discussions would be held with federal authorities regarding the broader issues impacting the business sector.

The Chief Minister further highlighted the importance of fostering a conducive environment for lawful trade and business, expressing his concerns about illegal activities such as smuggling. “Smuggling cannot be considered legitimate trade; it only benefits a few individuals,” Bugti remarked. He vowed to discourage illegal commerce and assured the public that his government would stand with the legal traders and businessmen, advocating for their rights and ensuring that legitimate concerns are addressed.

In a separate comment, Bugti expressed his deep sadness over the recent kidnapping of a child in the province, calling it an extremely distressing and unfortunate incident. “If a sit-in could result in the safe recovery of the child, we would all join the protest,” he said, emphasizing the government’s commitment to resolving such serious issues.

Bugti’s remarks reflect a careful balancing act between addressing the concerns of local businesses, maintaining public order, and taking a strong stance against illegal activities. His statements also underline his commitment to resolving the province’s security issues, while ensuring that lawful trade and business operations are protected and encouraged.
