CM Balochistan Directs Strict Actions Against Double Employment and Misuse of Government Resources

Quetta:In a significant meeting chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Sardar Fazal Bugit, the Secretaries Committee convened to review governance improvements, implementation of development projects, and the challenges the province is facing. The meeting, attended by the Chief Secretary of Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan, IG Police Moazam Jah Ansari, and other provincial department secretaries, focused on several pressing issues.

During the meeting, it was revealed that 428 employees across 28 departments were involved in double employment, prompting the Chief Minister to order immediate action. He directed the filing of FIRs against the employees involved in double employment and instructed authorities to take legal actions under the BEDA Act.

The meeting also saw a briefing from the Secretary of the Excise Department, who presented a record of 9,882 government vehicles. He informed the meeting that many officers had not returned government vehicles despite being transferred from their posts. The Chief Minister expressed strong displeasure and directed the filing of FIRs against officers failing to return the vehicles.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of good governance in combating terrorism. He stated that terrorism thrives in an environment of poor governance and stressed the need for rebuilding trust between the state and citizens through effective governance. He also emphasized that the state must ensure the well-being of the public by properly utilizing the resources allocated to government employees.

The Chief Minister remarked, “Public service is a voluntary decision, and officials must serve with honesty and dedication for the welfare of the people.” He underscored the need to focus on resolving the problems of the common Balochistani people who endure hardships in both winter and summer.

He expressed readiness to handle all political pressures himself and emphasized the need for reforms in the Civil Servants Act. According to him, officers who do not perform their duties or understand the people’s issues should be dismissed. He also made it clear that the performance of civil servants will now be assessed based on specific indicators, and attendance will be monitored through the Information Technology Department.

On the development front, CM Balochistan stated that development projects should not just be about building residences for officers, but about addressing the core issues faced by the public. He encouraged officers to work on resolving public issues, even if it meant working under tents in remote areas.

The Chief Minister also discussed the need for greater collaboration with the private sector to create more job opportunities through the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP). He highlighted the critical role that public servants must play in combating terrorism, asserting that no officer or employee should deviate from the state’s narrative.

In conclusion, he reiterated that all officers and government employees must stand firm against terrorism and ensure the implementation of government policies for the welfare of the people. The CM also stressed that the fight against terrorism is crucial for the future of Balochistan and the nation as a whole.
