Clashes Between Tribes in Kurram Leave 6 More Dead, Death Toll Reaches 130
Kurram: Clashes between rival tribes in Kurram District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, continued for the 11th consecutive day, claiming the lives of 6 more individuals and leaving 8 others injured. With this, the death toll has risen to 130, and at least 186 people have been wounded in the ongoing conflict.
Due to the escalating violence, key routes including the Peshawar-Parachinar main road and the Pak-Afghan Kherlachi border have been closed, disrupting transportation and trade. This has led to severe shortages of fuel, food supplies, and medicines in the region.
Deputy Commissioner Javed Ullah Mehsud confirmed that security forces and police have been deployed in various areas of Lower Kurram. He added that efforts for a ceasefire would continue in other areas today.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, accompanied by a tribal delegation, arrived in Kohat to hold talks with provincial political and tribal leaders in an attempt to mediate and bring an end to the violence.
