Clash Between Police and PTI Convoy as Protesters Set Fire on Motorway M1

Islamabad: Reports have emerged of police shelling on a convoy led by Leader of the Opposition, Umar Ayub, as it traveled from Haripur to Islamabad for a PTI protest. Speaking to the media, Ayub criticized the government for blocking all access between Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and the rest of the country under the guise of motorway repairs. Upon reaching the Jhand border in Punjab’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region, the convoy was met with police shelling. Additionally, protesters from another convoy traveling from Ghazi to Attock reportedly threw stones at the police and set fire on the M1 motorway. Despite warnings from police, the protesters continued their actions.
