Chinese Man Forced to Undergo Emergency Surgery Due to Habit of Picking Nose

Beijing:A Chinese man had to undergo emergency surgery after a severe bleeding incident caused by his habit of frequently picking his nose. The unusual case, which took place in Xi’an Yang city, Shanxi province, was shared on social media by his wife to warn others who might have similar habits.

The man, whose name has not been disclosed, was reportedly often seen with his finger in his nose, which eventually led to a medical emergency. According to reports, one day, while he was once again indulging in his habit, he began bleeding profusely from his nose. Despite several attempts to stop the bleeding, it continued, prompting the couple to rush to the hospital.

Upon arrival at the hospital, doctors discovered that a blood vessel in his nose had ruptured, requiring immediate surgery. The man’s wife filmed the entire experience at the hospital.

Health experts have warned that constantly picking one’s nose can lead to serious infections. If this habit persists, it can cause more complications, such as damaging blood vessels or tissues in the nose, and in some cases, even cause a blood vessel to burst.
