China to Strengthen Developmental Strategy and Cooperation with Pakistan: Ambassador Jiang Zaidong

Islamabad:The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, has reaffirmed China’s commitment to continuing alignment with Pakistan in developmental strategies to further deepen bilateral, mutually beneficial cooperation. Speaking at a celebration of the Chinese New Year in Islamabad, Ambassador Zaidong emphasized that this cooperation would also promote the new version of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and usher in a new era of closer relations between the two nations.
He stated that both CPEC and non-CPEC projects, along with trade and developmental initiatives, not only reflect the maturity of Pakistan-China cooperation but also highlight the broad scope of practical cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Zaidong also discussed China’s economic progress, pointing out that the country has successfully met its key targets and opportunities, with an expanding economy and improvements in its structure. He noted that China has promoted high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, with 155 countries now involved in the initiative. In 2024, China’s total trade with Belt and Road countries surpassed 22 trillion yuan, marking a year-on-year increase of 6.4%, which represents 50.3% of China’s total foreign trade value.
He further appreciated the efforts of Pakistan’s new government in advancing various reform agendas, achieving new national progress, and enhancing Pakistan’s international standing. The Ambassador concluded his speech by reiterating that the doors of China are always open to Pakistan and that China will continue to stand with Pakistan.
Ambassador Zaidong expressed optimism about working together with Pakistan in the coming year, focusing on hard work, bold progress, promoting friendly cooperation, fostering mutual understanding between civilizations, and contributing to a shared future for humanity. He emphasized that China and Pakistan are ready to build an even brighter future for their relations.
