Chief Secretary of Balochistan Chairs Meeting on Healthcare Services and Availability of Medicines

Quetta:Under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary of Balochistan, Shakil Qadir Khan, an important meeting was held to discuss the operationalization of Basic Health Units (BHUs) and the provision of medicines in the province. The meeting reviewed the availability of medical facilities and emphasized that providing quality healthcare services is a fundamental right of the people. The government is giving special attention to ensuring the best healthcare services are accessible to all.
During the meeting, it was decided that concrete measures would be taken to address the shortage of doctors and medical staff at district health centers. The Chief Secretary directed that doctors and medical staff should provide special care and attention to patients coming from remote areas for treatment.
To ensure the availability of essential and basic services at hospitals, all available resources would be utilized. Measures would be taken to guarantee the supply of medicines and ensure the attendance of medical staff at all hospitals. Shakil Qadir Khan also instructed that all 164 BHUs in the province be made operational immediately.
Furthermore, the recruitment process for doctors and paramedics for the Basic Health Units and actions to ensure the provision of medicines will be prioritized. The Chief Secretary emphasized that all necessary steps should be completed before the upcoming financial year’s budget.
