Islamabad:Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has commenced discussions on expanding the provincial cabinet, according to sources.
It is reported that former Speaker of Punjab Assembly, Rana Iqbal, along with 4 to 5 others, are being considered for inclusion in the cabinet. Additionally, 2 individuals from Southern Punjab are also expected to be included.
Sources indicate that Manzoor Butt and Sultan Haider Ali Khan are also under consideration for cabinet roles.
The final decision regarding the cabinet expansion will be made after consultations with the leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Nawaz Sharif, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Currently, the Punjab cabinet comprises 1 Senior Minister, 17 Ministers, 1 Advisor, and 2 Special Assistants, making a total of 21 members.
