Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti , Announces Expansion of ‘Safaa Quetta’ Project

Quetta: Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has reaffirmed the government’s support for the “Safaa Quetta” project, highlighting the importance of cleanliness and urban development for the city. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony for the expansion of Zones 2, 3, and 4 of the project, he expressed his commitment to further extend the initiative throughout the entire Quetta district.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti emphasized the shared responsibility of every citizen to ensure cleanliness in the city, declaring Quetta to be “our collective home.” He acknowledged the hard work of the “Safaa Quetta” team, especially the youth in blue uniforms, who are tirelessly working in difficult conditions to maintain cleanliness. The Chief Minister lauded their dedication and efforts.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the challenges faced by such projects, stating that certain elements oppose progress and the elimination of their influence. Despite these challenges, Sarfraz Bugti assured that the government would continue to support the initiative. He emphasized that the Balochistan government, along with all local representatives, is committed to ensuring the success of “Safaa Quetta” and will provide every possible cooperation.
The Chief Minister also praised the people of Metropolitan Union for their support in the city’s cleanliness efforts, underscoring that any initiative in line with merit and the law will be supported by the government. He assured that no form of blackmail or pressure tactics would be tolerated, especially those opposing public interests.
In his speech, Mir Sarfraz Bugti announced that the “Safaa Quetta” project would be expanded further and that its scope would cover the entire Quetta district. He urged the public to actively participate in keeping their homes and markets clean, particularly encouraging youth and traders to contribute to the city’s cleanliness. The Chief Minister called for businesses on roads like Jinnah Road to ensure cleanliness, aiming to make Quetta one of the cleanest cities in Pakistan.
Additionally, he assured the monitoring and evaluation of the project’s performance through third-party audits. He noted that he personally reviews daily reports from the “Safaa Quetta” social media platforms, ensuring that public feedback is considered in decision-making processes. The Chief Minister also revealed that new developmental projects would soon be launched in Quetta, particularly focusing on upgrading Airport Road to international standards to enhance the city’s beauty.
In his concluding remarks, Mir Sarfraz Bugti strongly condemned the recent terrorist incident in Balochistan, calling on the nation to unite in condemning such acts that aim to disrupt the region’s rich cultural heritage. He reaffirmed the importance of preserving Sarfraz Bugti , Pashtun, Hazara, and other tribal cultures, which have always been an integral part of Balochistan’s identity.
