Quetta: In a message marking World Population Day, Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sardar sarFaraz Bugti underscored the importance of prioritizing health and education within the government’s agenda. He stated that without serious attention to health, the dream of progress cannot be adequately articulated.
Bugti emphasized the urgent need to enhance services for maternal and child health in Balochistan to prevent infant and maternal mortality. He called for concrete measures to revolutionize the health sector, particularly focusing on reproductive health and family planning, which are vital components for the overall well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
Highlighting the allocation of significant funds in the budget for health and family planning, Bugti reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the general health conditions and prosperity of the people of Balochistan. He stressed that effective reproductive health and family planning initiatives empower individuals to exercise their rights, ensuring access to essential services such as safe childbirth, postnatal care, prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, and infertility management.
Bugti further emphasized that ensuring access to standardized reproductive health services and healthcare can help individuals navigate specific needs and challenges during their reproductive years, thus enabling them to play an active role in the province’s and country’s overall development.
The Chief Minister expressed determination for the government of Balochistan to collaborate closely with stakeholders to achieve good health and well-being for the people of the province. He concluded with the slogan “Healthy Balochistan, Our Commitment.”
