Chief Minister Balochistan Reviews Health Department Performance, Emphasizes Merit-Based Reforms

Quetta: In a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sardar Fazal Bugit, the performance of the provincial health department was reviewed. The meeting was attended by Provincial Health Minister, Bakht Mohammad Kakr, Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan, Secretary Health Mujib-ur-Rehman, and Director General Health Services Balochistan, Dr. Ameen Khan Mandokhel.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Balochistan emphasized the importance of completing the process of merit-based appointments within the health department. He instructed that any irregularities in recruitment, including appointments made without merit, should be dealt with sternly, and those found responsible should face action.
The Chief Minister also stressed that the successful implementation of reforms in the health and education sectors could resolve up to 80% of the public’s issues. He noted that resolving these fundamental issues would significantly alleviate the problems faced by the people of the province.
Mir Sardar Fazal Bugit further pointed out that there are currently 250,000 “government employees” in Balochistan, yet the service delivery system remains unsatisfactory. He underlined that resources allocated for the health sector should directly benefit the common man and that any mafias obstructing reforms must be dealt with decisively.
The Chief Minister also offered an open dialogue on the proposed reforms, inviting those with reservations to come forward and discuss their concerns. However, he made it clear that any disruptions to public welfare through protests or opposition to these reforms would not be tolerated.
