Quetta :Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, announced during a two-hour debate on law and order in the Balochistan Assembly that the perpetrators of the murder of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam leader and President Press Club Maulana Sadiq Mengal have been apprehended. He emphasized the need for swift justice, urging the courts to ensure the punishment of the killers. Zehri also promised that those responsible for the murder of Islami Umarani would soon be arrested, with four individuals already in custody. He pledged to depoliticize the police and Levies forces completely, stating that henceforth no police officer would be appointed on anyone’s recommendation. Zehri assured the assembly that modern facilities would be provided to the police and Levies to enhance their effectiveness. He directed the Inspector General of Police to appoint competent officers from Punjab and other parts of the country to Balochistan, ensuring that no appointments are made based on recommendations.
