Chief Minister Balochistan Emphasizes Accountability and Public Service in Secretary’s Committee Meeting

Quetta:On Tuesday, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sardar Fazal Bggti chaired a meeting of the Secretary’s Committee, where he outlined key strategies for improving governance and public service delivery in the province. During the meeting, the Chief Minister announced that the government had gained access to a database of government employees, with the cooperation of the Information Technology Department, and that he himself would monitor the attendance of all officials.
He emphasized that if the desired outcomes are not achieved, stringent actions would be taken. The Chief Minister also highlighted that the purpose of development projects should not just be the construction of buildings but should focus on ensuring the welfare of the people. He suggested that in some cases, government officials might have to stay in remote areas and perform public service tasks in tents to demonstrate to the public that the government is committed to addressing their issues.
Sardar Bggti further stated that no government official or employee could deviate from the state narrative, as doing so would only empower anti-state elements. He stressed the importance of addressing governance challenges, especially as Balochistan goes through a difficult phase. All government employees, he said, must focus on resolving public issues, with special attention given to those suffering from extreme weather conditions.
Additionally, the Chief Minister directed that, through collaboration with the private sector, more employment opportunities should be generated under the PSDP (Public Sector Development Program) to ensure better prospects for the public. This move is aimed at improving the living standards of the common Balochistani.
