Hub,Balochistan:Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sardar Usman Baloch, visited Hub for a one-day trip, accompanied by former Chief Minister of Balochistan and Senator Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, Provincial Minister for Agriculture Mir Ali Hassan Zehri, and Members of National Assembly Wadera Mian Khan Bugti and Wadera Jalal-ur-Rehman Kalpar Bugti.
Addressing a public gathering in Hub, the Chief Minister emphasized the city’s potential, noting that despite producing multiple Chief Ministers, Hub had yet to become the modern industrial city it could have been, given its proximity to Karachi. He stated, “Despite its potential, Hub is still far from being the modern city it should have been, and it presents the image of ruins rather than development.” He promised that, under the guidance of President Asif Ali Zardari and with the support of Ali Hassan Zehri, efforts would be made to speed up ongoing schemes and introduce new development projects to transform Hub into a modern city.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the poor condition of Jam Ghulam Qadir Government Hospital in Hub, stating that it would be handed over to Indus Hospital under a Public-Private Partnership model inspired by Sindh’s model, which was part of the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. This move aims to improve healthcare facilities in the region.
Furthermore, he announced the establishment of a new nursing college in Hub, named after Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, which will provide training for both men and women in the Chtalat Division to improve healthcare services.
Mir Sardar Usman Baloch reiterated his commitment to the welfare of workers, emphasizing that the industrial sector in Hub would receive support, including cheaper electricity via solar power projects in collaboration with K-Electric, to boost the local economy and attract industries back to Hub.
In a series of financial commitments, the Chief Minister announced Rs. 25 crore each for the District Council Hub and Municipal Corporation Hub, alongside the grant of “Tehsil” status for Sakran and a Town Committee status for Lohai, based on population assessments. Additionally, he revealed plans for the construction of a road linking Gadani to Hub to further enhance connectivity and regional development.
