Chief Minister Balochistan Announces Closure of Zakat Department

The Chief Minister of Balochistan, Sardar Sarfraz Bugti, has announced the closure of the Zakat Department in the province. He stated that the department allocates an annual amount of 30 crore rupees for distribution among the deserving individuals, but the operating cost of the department amounts to 160 crore rupees.
According to Sardar Bugti, the Zakat Department utilizes 80 vehicles for the distribution of 30 crore rupees, yet no distribution of Zakat has taken place in the past two years. The Chief Minister has proposed that the 30 crore rupees will now be distributed directly through Deputy Commissioners to ensure that the aid reaches the underprivileged efficiently.
This decision aims to cut down the overhead costs and improve the process of Zakat distribution by bypassing the inefficiencies of the current system.
