Quetta:In a startling revelation, a spokesperson for Quetta’s daily newspaper, “Qudrat”, issued a statement expressing deep concern over the current state of affairs within the Health Department. The spokesperson lamented the lack of clarity regarding departmental leadership and operational control, stating that it remains unclear who is currently in charge and steering the department’s course.
According to the spokesperson, there is a palpable sense of disarray and neglect within the department, suggesting that the ministry head appears disinterested in addressing departmental issues, focusing instead on personal endeavors. Other officials, from senior to junior ranks, are reportedly neglecting routine matters, leaving applications for basic services pending for months while prioritizing political and influential figures.
The spokesperson also raised alarming allegations, claiming that a mafia-like entity has infiltrated the department, engaging in blackmail and corrupt practices to serve personal interests. This includes unauthorized postings, transfers, and promotions, allegedly orchestrated by individuals masquerading behind the guise of a medical organization.
The Quetta Doctors’ Forum has voiced its concerns, highlighting the menace posed by such corrupt elements within the healthcare system. They have demanded immediate intervention from senior authorities, especially the Chief Minister of Balochistan, urging swift action to restore integrity and fairness in the department’s operations.
In response to the unfolding crisis, the Balochistan government assured its commitment to swiftly address public health concerns, pledging full cooperation to alleviate the grievances of ordinary citizens. However, they emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards any injustices perpetrated against doctors, students, or paramedics by the alleged perpetrators.
The situation underscores a deep-rooted systemic issue affecting the healthcare delivery in Quetta, with calls growing louder for transparency, accountability, and a crackdown on corruption within the department.
