Chaman: After 304 days of continuous protest, the demands of Chaman’s residents have been accepted by the state. The authorities have agreed to reinstate the previous system at the border with Afghanistan. Effective immediately, the recognition cards and permits for travel to and from Afghanistan will be reinstated.
Minister Anayat Kasi stated that the protest and the role of mediators between the government and protesters have been pivotal. Addressing the stage of the Chaman protest, he declared, “Our demands have been met.”
Spokesperson Razzaq confirmed to Daily Qudrat, “Negotiations between the government and protest leadership are nearing a principled agreement.”
A mechanism will be devised for the movement of people across the border, ensuring employment opportunities under the previous protocols. Several points have been agreed upon between the arrested protest leadership and state authorities.
Following the successful negotiations, the detained protest leadership was released last night in Quetta. The introduction of a new mechanism at the Chaman border aims to prevent the escalation of political tensions.
The entire operation was conducted in complete silence to avoid any complications arising from political interference.
