Chaman:An attempt by a dangerous prisoner to escape from Chaman Jail was thwarted by the police. The prisoner, who had managed to seize a weapon from the police, fired shots during his escape attempt, injuring a police officer. The injured officer was promptly taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
According to police reports, the prisoner attempted to escape while being temporarily allowed out of his cell for ablutions and prayers. However, the escape attempt was unsuccessful, and the prisoner was recaptured by police on Taj Road. The situation was brought under control, and the dangerous prisoner was returned to custody.
