Central Organizer of Baloch Unity Committee, Mah Rang Baloch, Transferred to Quetta Jail

Quetta: Mah Rang Baloch, the central organizer of the Baloch Unity Committee, who was arrested in the Saryab area of Quetta, has been transferred to Quetta Jail. Along with Mah Rang Baloch, four other women were also moved to jail under the provisions of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) for one month.

Commissioner Quetta, Hamza Shafqat, stated that during a protest organized by the Baloch Unity Committee in support of the deceased militants of the Jafar Express, violent protesters threw stones at the police and opened fire. He further stated that the armed individuals accompanying the leaders of the Baloch Unity Committee were responsible for the firing that resulted in the deaths of two laborers and one Afghan national.

In a discussion on Geo News’ program “Naya Pakistan,” the spokesperson for the Balochistan government, Shahid Rind, mentioned that the leadership of the Baloch Unity Committee had been arrested following the attack on the Civil Hospital Quetta. He emphasized that armed individuals were involved in the Baloch Unity Committee’s protest. Rind stated that special laws are needed during exceptional circumstances and clarified that the Baloch Unity Committee was protesting for the bodies of the deceased militants. He added that the police attempted to disperse the protesters using water cannons.
