Karachi:Today marks the **97th birth anniversary** of **Zulfikar Ali Bhutto**, the founder of the **Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)** and the former Prime Minister of Pakistan.
Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was born on **January 5, 1928**, in **Larkana**, Sindh. He served as the **President of Pakistan** from **1971 to 1973** and is also celebrated as the country’s first **elected Prime Minister**.
During his tenure, Bhutto made significant contributions to Pakistan’s political landscape. He introduced the **1973 Constitution**, which was a major milestone in Pakistan’s democratic history. His government also granted the **right to vote** and the **National Identity Card** to the common people, expanding the political participation of the masses.
Zulfikar Ali Bhutto is also remembered for laying the foundation of Pakistan’s **nuclear program**, positioning the country as a key player in the region. Moreover, he hosted the **First Islamic Summit Conference** in **1974**, marking Pakistan’s leadership role in the Muslim world.
