Islamabad:Following the directive of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the Capital Development Authority (CDAA) has established an Environmental Change Fund for Islamabad for the first time in history.
Under the Special Fund, the Climate Change Initiative has been launched. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended Chairman CDAA Muhammad Ali Rindawa and the concerned team for initiating the Environmental Fund.
Mohsin Naqvi stated, “CDAA has taken the lead by establishing the Environmental Fund. The team at CDAA deserves congratulations.”
Chairman CDAA Muhammad Ali Rindawa announced that under the initiative, a Carbon Credit Program will also be introduced in the city. “2,000 to 10,000 acres of designated areas in the city have been allocated for planting 4 to 5 million trees,” he disclosed. Locations for tree planting have been earmarked in new sectors, avenues, and other open areas.
Approval for the Margalla Hills Recreational Areas Fund was also granted, according to Chairman CDAA. He mentioned that 1.5% of the revenue from recreational areas will be allocated from this fund, ensuring the conservation and beautification of Margalla Hills.
