Bushra Bibi Slams PTI Leaders for Leaving Her Alone at D-Chowk, Vows Action Against Them
Peshawar: Bishra Bibi, the wife of PTI’s founder Imran Khan, has expressed her anger towards senior party leaders who allegedly abandoned her at D-Chowk during the protest on November 24, and later accused her of fleeing the scene. In an emotional statement, she categorically denied fleeing, stating that her vehicle came under direct gunfire after she was left alone.
According to Express News, Bishra Bibi addressed the issue after the D-Chowk protest, revealing that she had been abandoned by party leaders who fled the scene, leaving her behind with the workers. She said she was deeply hurt by media statements accusing her of running away, as she has always been committed to Imran Khan and the party’s cause.
“I am not someone who runs away. I was not going to leave the workers behind. My car was shot at directly when I refused to leave D-Chowk. I was there until the very end,” Bishra Bibi said.
She claimed that the senior PTI leaders had deserted her and other workers, making media statements blaming her for abandoning the protest. Bishra Bibi clarified that she had not been informed of her vehicle’s identification, and the party leaders failed to show up when they were supposed to be present.
Speaking about the situation on November 24, she said, “I was alone in my car at D-Chowk at 12:30 AM when they were forcibly clearing the area. I told everyone that I shouldn’t be left alone, but they deserted me, and my car was shot at.”
Bishra Bibi strongly condemned the actions of the leaders who fled and vowed that strict action would be taken against them. She added that a report regarding these leaders would be presented to PTI’s founder Imran Khan, and necessary disciplinary measures would be implemented.
Sources revealed that Bishra Bibi had instructed all senior leaders to be present at D-Chowk for the protest and not to leave after the photo sessions. However, after the protest escalated and party workers faced arrests and gunfire, these leaders vanished, leaving Bishra Bibi and the workers alone.
Bishra Bibi’s anger has intensified as she feels these leaders not only abandoned her but also tarnished the party’s image with their false statements. She is determined to take strict action against those responsible, asserting that their actions demoralized the party workers and undermined PTI’s efforts.
She has also distanced herself from these leaders and is reportedly not willing to meet them until disciplinary actions are taken. Bishra Bibi’s spokesperson, Mishaal Yousafzai, was contacted multiple times for a comment but did not respond.
The fallout from the November 24 protest continues to have significant ramifications within PTI, with Bishra Bibi leading the charge for internal accountability and a strengthening of party discipline.
