BSO (Shal Zone) Condemns Discriminatory Hostel Allocation Policies at Bolan Medical College

Quetta:The Baloch Students Organization (Shal Zone) has strongly condemned the biased policies of the administration and hostel committee regarding the ongoing hostel allotment process at Bolan Medical College. The organization accused the administration of pretending to follow merit-based principles while actually adopting discriminatory practices. It was alleged that preferred individuals were being allotted better rooms, while merit was completely disregarded.
The organization emphasized that if MBBS and BDS seats were allocated based on the District Quota System, then the hostel allotment process should also follow the same rules. The BSO (Shal Zone) accused the administration and hostel committee of deliberately denying Baloch students basic facilities and of plotting to marginalize them further. The issue was compounded by the fact that first-year students were being charged hostel fees twice in one year, which the organization described as pure exploitation.
Furthermore, the decision to keep the hostel closed for three months under the guise of “renovation” and the spreading of false narratives about Baloch student organizations were seen as clear evidence of the administration’s anti-Baloch stance. The BSO argued that the students in question come from regions where educational institutions are scarce, and despite extreme poverty, they make significant efforts to pursue higher education. However, the government and administration were allegedly making deliberate attempts to pressure these students into abandoning their education.
The BSO also pointed out that the failure to disburse scholarships for over a year to BMC students is another example of systemic exploitation. The organization made it clear that if the administration does not honor the promises made during the 28-day protest regarding hostel allotment, the students reserve their democratic right to continue their protest.
