Boxing Legend and Two-Time Heavyweight Champion George Foreman Passes Away at 76

Two-time World Heavyweight Champion and Olympic boxing legend, George Foreman, has passed away at the age of 76. Foreman, who famously lost the historic “Rumble in the Jungle” fight against Muhammad Ali in 1974, went on to reclaim the World Heavyweight title two decades later. His death on March 21, 2025, has left thousands of fans in mourning.

Foreman’s family confirmed his passing, stating with deep sorrow that George Edward Foreman passed away on March 21, 2025.

Foreman had married five times, with his longest marriage to Mary Joan Martelly in 1985, lasting for 40 years. He had 12 children from his various marriages, and notably, named five of his sons George Edward Foreman, calling them George Jr., Monk, Book, Red, and Geo.

The official cause of Foreman’s death has not yet been revealed, but fans are speculating various theories. One social media user pointed out that Foreman was a strong advocate for the COVID-19 vaccine in 2019, even doing commercials for it in exchange for money. Another user suggested that while they felt the boxing legend had passed away, they believed his death may have been due to a heart attack, speculating that the true cause may not be disclosed to avoid impacting the sales of his “Foreman Grill.”

Throughout his illustrious boxing career, Foreman fought in 81 matches, winning 76 and losing only 5. Of his victories, 68 were by knockout. He was inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame and the International Boxing Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest boxers in history.
