BNP Supports Baloch Unity Committee Rally, Condemns Security Forces’ Actions in Mastung

Quetta:Sajid Tareen Advocate, Senior Vice President of the Balochistan National Party (BNP), has voiced strong support for the Baloch Unity Committee’s rally and condemned the recent firing by security forces on the committee’s convoy in Mastung. Addressing a press conference at the Quetta Press Club, Tareen criticized the current provincial government, asserting that the Chief Minister should be someone elected by the people, not imposed through dubious means.

Tareen claimed that the incoming government, backed by Form 47, is making unsuccessful attempts to halt the Gwadar rally. He expressed concern that instead of maintaining peace and order, the government is using violence against peaceful protesters, likening the situation to the recent events in Bannu and accusing the administration of fostering extremism.

He questioned why negotiations could be held with Tehreek-e-Labbaik but not with Pashtun and Baloch representatives. Tareen highlighted the ongoing water crisis in Gwadar and accused the authorities of pushing Baloch and Pashtun communities against the wall, suggesting that these actions are intended to provoke violence and suppress dissent.

The BNP leader urged all party workers to join the Baloch Unity Committee’s sit-in and called for a unified approach by all political parties to address the issues at hand. He condemned the government’s strategy of silencing public voices through violence and human rights violations, emphasizing that such methods only exacerbate existing crises.

Tareen also praised the efforts of Baloch women who have long fought for the recovery of missing persons, asserting that their right to protest and hold rallies should be respected. He criticized the current administration’s approach as an unacceptable suppression of democratic expression, which could lead to further human rights abuses and instability.
