BNP Condemns Arrests of Political Workers in Barkhan and Violation of Privacy
Quetta:The Balochistan National Party (BNP) has strongly condemned the arrest of party workers including district president Sadiq Khitran and Gulzar alias Raja in Barkhan, as well as the raids on their homes and violations of privacy. The party also denounced the arrests, raids, and baseless charges against political activists across various regions of Balochistan.
In a statement, the BNP criticized the so-called democracy in Pakistan, asserting that the rights of Baloch, Pashtun, Hazara, and other marginalized groups are being suppressed. The statement highlighted that the reality of democracy in Balochistan is limited to the rhetoric of the ruling elite, with no practical implementation. The BNP pointed out that the ruling authorities continue to adhere to authoritarian practices reminiscent of the past, undermining democratic principles.
The party emphasized that, despite claims by the government about the right to protest, the basic rights of the people in Balochistan are being infringed upon. The BNP demanded the immediate release of political activists and the termination of the charges against them. They also called for an end to the violations of privacy and the respect for Baloch traditions and fundamental rights.
