Blaming Opposition to Women’s Progress, Bilawal Bhutto Inaugurates Pink Football Stadium in Lyari
Karachi: Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, inaugurated the Pink Football Stadium for women in Lyari, Karachi, and criticized those who oppose the progress of women. He stated that there are individuals in both Pakistan and neighboring countries who do not want to see women progress.
Addressing the ceremony, Bilawal remarked that there are certain people in our country and in our neighboring country who resist the advancement of women. He emphasized that the establishment of the women’s football team was a response to such regressive thinking. “We will prove that the women of Sindh will play a key role in Pakistan and the world,” he said.
Bilawal expressed his happiness upon visiting Lyari and appreciated the football ground, calling it world-class. He credited the provision of such opportunities to the vision of Benazir Bhutto, the former Prime Minister, who always believed in empowering women. He recalled how Shaheed Benazir Bhutto had once stated, “Women can achieve anything they desire. If they want to become the Prime Minister of the country, they can do it not just once, but twice.”
The inauguration ceremony also featured speeches by the Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, and other local leaders.
