Blaawal Bhutto Zardari Demands Salary Increase for Employees in Line with Inflation

Islamabad:Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has called for an increase in the salaries of employees to match the rising inflation in the country.
Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad, Bilawal emphasized that, in light of the inflation that has occurred over the past decade, employees’ salaries should also be increased proportionately. He stated that if workers receive the appropriate reward for their hard work, it will lead to a more stable economy.
“Over the past 10 years, inflation has significantly risen, and so should the salaries and pensions of workers,” he added. He also highlighted that PPP has been fighting for the rights of workers for three generations, mentioning that the party had played a pivotal role in helping Pakistan adopt its constitution alongside workers and laborers.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also referenced the struggles of PPP in opposing the authoritarian regimes of Zia-ul-Haq and Pervez Musharraf, which attempted to undermine workers’ rights. He reminded the audience that it was PPP founder, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who introduced the labor policy to the country.
It is notable that last year, on the proposal of Pakistan Peoples Party, the government approved a 25% increase in the salaries of government employees.
