Islamabad:Following the dismissal of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, concerns among her close associates remain high. Students have been vigilantly tracking every associate of Sheikh Hasina, who fled to India. One such associate, who was trying to escape, was apprehended by students after attempting to disguise himself by shaving his beard and cutting his hair.
According to Bangladeshi media, the interim government is also ensuring that no associate of Sheikh Hasina can escape the country. In this context, the interim government recently arrested Salman F Rahman, who served as Sheikh Hasina’s advisor on industry and investment, late last night.
Bangladeshi security forces received intelligence that Salman was attempting to escape by disguising himself as a fisherman. Prompt action was taken to increase surveillance along the coast, resulting in his capture from a boat.
Salman had completely changed his appearance to avoid arrest, shaving off his beard and posing as a fisherman. He was attempting to flee Bangladesh under this guise.
Salman faces allegations of embezzling billions of dollars from Bangladesh while serving as Sheikh Hasina’s personal advisor on industry and investment. Previously, a Major General was also arrested while attempting to board a flight.
