Bangladesh to Launch Direct Air Operations to Pakistan: High Commissioner Mohammad Iqbal Hussain

Peshawar:Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Mohammad Iqbal Hussain, announced plans to start direct air operations between Bangladesh and Pakistan. During a press conference in Peshawar, Hussain stated that the relationship between Pakistan and Bangladesh is strong, and the direct flight operations are a step toward enhancing bilateral ties.

He emphasized that Bangladesh seeks increased cooperation with Pakistan in various sectors, including tourism and education. Hussain also expressed confidence that the new commercial and diplomatic relations between the two countries will further strengthen.

Highlighting the importance of freedom of expression in Bangladesh, Hussain shared how the youth of his country have used social media to raise their voices for their rights, leading to a flourishing culture of free speech.

The High Commissioner also noted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) offers ample investment opportunities, with many Bangladeshis visiting Pakistan for medical treatments. He encouraged investment in the industrial sector and hoped for a boost in bilateral trade, particularly with Bangladesh’s products in demand in Pakistan. While shipping trade between Chittagong and Karachi continues, Hussain pointed out that the volume remains relatively low.

On the upcoming elections in Bangladesh, Hussain reiterated that the country’s focus remains on economic growth. He also praised the Pakistan Air Force for its excellence in the defense sector.
