Bangladesh:Despite current political tensions, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is prepared to host the Women’s T20 World Cup in October.
Officials of the Bangladesh Cricket Board have expressed confidence in hosting the Women’s T20 World Cup according to schedule, despite the political unrest in the country. They emphasized that there are no concerns about the situation and remain committed to hosting the event.
It’s noteworthy that the ICC had expressed intentions to assess the situation after the imposition of emergency in Bangladesh. The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is scheduled from October 3 to October 20, featuring 23 matches among 10 teams in Dhaka and Sylhet over 18 days.
Nizamuddin Chowdhury, Chief Executive of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, stated, “We are proceeding to host the event as per the current schedule.” Meanwhile, Shafiul Alam, Chairman of the Women’s Wing, added, “We are not worried about the situation; there is still plenty of time, and the conditions will improve in the coming days.”
