Balochistan’s Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Calls for Greenery and Environmental Awareness in the Province

Quetta:Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and leader of Haq Do Tehreek, MPA Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, emphasized the importance of tree plantation and environmental care to make Balochistan greener and more prosperous. He urged the public to take part in the tree plantation campaign without waiting for the government’s actions, stating that every individual should plant at least one tree in their locality, home, neighborhood, or city. He also stressed the need to cultivate the habit of cleanliness and maintain a clean environment in homes and communities.
In his speech during the inauguration of the tree plantation campaign in Gwadar, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch said that efforts to combat the effects of climate change in Gwadar had begun with the help of the Forestry Department. He revealed that a program was launched to plant one lakh trees across the district, supported by the special interest of Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch and the efforts of Forestry Officer Yar Muhammad.
The campaign’s official launch included planting trees by Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, Hafeez Kayazai (organizer of Haq Do Tehreek), and Information Secretary Babar Shehzad. During the event, Maulana Baloch highlighted the significance of tree plantation in mitigating the effects of climate change and encouraged citizens to take responsibility for planting trees. He also urged individuals to plant flowers and plants in their homes and neighborhoods to create a healthy and aesthetically pleasing environment. Special focus should be given to nurturing nurseries and promoting agriculture for the wellbeing of the community.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch emphasized that every citizen has a role to play in preventing Balochistan from becoming a desert and safeguarding the province from environmental degradation. He lamented that due to illiteracy, some people in the region were cutting down trees instead of planting them, a situation that he described as a cause for concern.
This is our Balochistan, and as its owners, it is our responsibility to protect its future by planting, saving, and caring for trees. He urged everyone to take action to preserve the environment for the benefit of future generations.
