Balochistan Interior Minister Ziaullah Langove Urges for Peace and Development Amidst Protests

Quetta:Balochistan’s Interior Minister, Mir Ziaullah Langove, has called for an end to the politics of protest and hatred, urging both the people of Balochistan and Gwadar to avoid further pushing the region into darkness. In a recent video statement, Langove emphasized that Pakistan is a free nation destined to remain so forever, and it is crucial to reject divisive and obstructive politics in favor of development.

Langove noted that while the provincial government had allowed peaceful protests in Quetta, the protests turned violent, leading to property damage. He stressed that the government supports peaceful demonstrations but has maintained restraint despite the violence. He also addressed the situation in Gwadar, where protests had escalated. Langove revealed that he remained in Gwadar for several days, conducting negotiations with all parties involved, including provincial assembly members, but the agreements were ultimately rejected.

The Interior Minister expressed a desire to end the protests peacefully and mentioned that the provincial government had accepted many of the protestors’ demands, including releasing all detained individuals. Despite this, the protests continued even after a written agreement was made.

Langove criticized those who, despite advocating for Balochistan’s rights and development, fail to honor agreements. He reassured that the provincial government had fulfilled its commitments, including releasing 75 individuals and reopening roads. He also highlighted concerns about certain individuals potentially serving foreign agendas, particularly pointing to Indian efforts to obstruct the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, which are vital for Balochistan’s and Pakistan’s development.

The Minister concluded by urging the people to unite against external conspiracies, stressing the need for a well-educated and aware nation to ensure progress and safeguard the future of Balochistan’s children.
