Balochistan Engineers Depart for Argentina Under Reko Diq Training Program

Quetta – As part of the educational development initiative under the Reko Diq project, eight talented engineers from various regions of Balochistan have departed for Argentina to participate in an 18-month training program. This international graduate development program is being conducted at Barrick Mining Corporation’s Veladero Project in Argentina.
This initiative reflects Reko Diq Mining Company’s commitment to providing local youth with international-standard education and professional training, transforming them into valuable assets for the nation. It aims to prepare them for significant roles in the future development of the Reko Diq project.
It is worth noting that earlier during 2023–24, two groups comprising nine to ten engineers had already been sent to Argentina and Zambia for similar training in mining operations at Barrick’s international sites.
Project representatives highlighted that the hands-on experience will equip the engineers with insights and skills related to modern, world-class mining operations. They expressed hope that this initiative would foster professional growth and contribute to the sustainable success of the Reko Diq project.
