Balochistan Education Minister Launches Free Textbook Distribution for 2025 Academic Year

Quetta:The launch ceremony for the distribution of free textbooks for the 2025 academic year was held with the participation of Provincial Education Minister Raheela Hamid Khan Durrani, Secretary of Education Saleh Muhammad Nasir, Chairman of the Balochistan Textbook Board Dr. Gulab Khan Khelji, Secretary of the Balochistan Textbook Board Dr. Niaz Tareen, Director of Monitoring and Development Munir Ahmad Baloch, and Director of Textbook Board Distribution Muhammad Hanif.
Minister Raheela Durrani stated that, in line with the directives of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, the government has ensured the timely delivery of textbooks to schools, marking a significant step toward educational development in the province. She praised the hard work and dedication of the Balochistan Textbook Board and its officers, acknowledging that this timely distribution of books at the start of the new academic year would contribute to improving the educational system.
The education minister emphasized that the Balochistan Textbook Board’s efforts to deliver textbooks on time would enhance the functioning of schools and facilitate easier access to education for students. She also noted the Board’s active role in curriculum development and other research and educational activities. The initiative to ensure timely delivery of textbooks has been made possible through collaboration with the Directorate of Schools, with a practical mechanism established for the delivery of books at the union council level in each district.
Durrani expressed her desire for the children of Balochistan to receive a modern curriculum based on the latest research. She pointed out that while the world is utilizing artificial intelligence to enhance education, the province faces challenges in adapting to these new trends due to previous governmental neglect, lack of teacher training, and traditional teaching methods. She acknowledged that these factors have caused Balochistan to lag behind in comparison to other parts of the country.
The education minister emphasized her commitment to ensuring that the children of Balochistan become capable and talented enough to compete with students from major cities and federal capital Islamabad. She expressed hope that the education department would continue to make efforts to improve the educational system with the same enthusiasm and dedication.
