Balochistan Education Minister Discusses Teacher Appointments and School Closures in Assembly
Quetta:During a session of the Balochistan Assembly, the provincial Education Minister, Raheela Hamid Khan Durrani, addressed questions related to the education sector, particularly the issue of teacher appointments and the closure of schools.
Minister Durrani assured the assembly that teacher appointments were in progress, with some teachers already placed and others pending. She emphasized that once these appointments were completed, the issue of closed schools would be resolved. She further stated that the Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, was taking special measures to ensure that all closed schools were reopened, allowing students to receive an education, as she stressed that no nation could progress without education.
Responding to a query, Minister Durrani invited any member of the assembly with concerns to visit her office, where she promised to listen to their issues and work towards resolving them. Members including Mir Zabad Riki, Zafar Agha, and Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman presented their questions, to which the provincial minister provided responses. As a result, the Speaker of the Assembly concluded the discussions on these matters.
However, questions related to the Ministry of Labour and Manpower were deferred to the next session due to the absence of the concerned provincial minister. The Speaker then adjourned the Balochistan Assembly meeting, setting the next session for January 2 at 3:00 PM.
