Quetta:The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Balochistan has issued a high alert in 17 districts of the province in anticipation of the monsoon rains. Speaking to a private TV channel, DG PDMA Balochistan Jahanzeb Khan confirmed that emergency supplies have been dispatched to all districts, and contingency plans for monsoon rains have been prepared.
All departments have been informed of their responsibilities, and deputy commissioners of the districts placed on high alert have been directed to compile lists of safe locations within their jurisdictions, as per DG PDMA’s instructions. The Director General PDMA further disclosed that the Nasirabad division is vulnerable to flash floods from torrential rains, while the Zhob and Sherani areas are prone to flash floods.
Instructions have also been issued to the provincial NDMA to remain prepared to deal with emergency situations during the monsoon showers.
