Balochistan Chief Minister Launches “Scooties Scheme” to Empower Women and Youth

Quetta:Balochistan’s Chief Minister, Mir Sardar Farooq Baloch, announced the introduction of the “Scooties Scheme” aimed at providing modern transportation facilities to students, working women, and the general public in Balochistan. Under this scheme, female students will be provided with pink scooties, while male students will be offered electric bikes.

The scheme also aims to empower youth and women by addressing their travel challenges, ensuring easy mobility within the province. The Chief Minister made this announcement during a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, where key aspects of the scheme were discussed.

A special committee, headed by the Secretary of Finance Balochistan, will be formed to establish regulations and protocols for the distribution of scooties and electric bikes. The committee will work on ensuring the scheme’s transparency and effectiveness.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the scheme would offer subsidized scooties to students, working women, and the general public to ease their commute. He also stated that, in consultation with the State Bank, financing facilities will be provided through banks to make the scheme sustainable and viable in the long run.

The initiative is intended to be accessible not only to students but also to the general population, with simplified conditions to allow as many people as possible to benefit from the modern transportation facilities.

Mir Sardar Farooq Baloch also approved the official launch of the Pink Scooties Scheme on International Women’s Day, aiming to further empower women in the province and move towards greater independence and autonomy for them.

Officials attending the meeting praised the Chief Minister’s initiative and expressed their commitment to implementing the scheme swiftly to ensure better transportation for the youth and women of Balochistan.
